St. Joseph's Academy Help Desk
Help Desk Technician
The St. Joseph's Academy Help Desk was one of the most formative experiences in my love of technology. When I was a junior in high school, I took a Computer Architecture class as my elective. During that course, I decided that I wanted to intern in our school's student-run Help Desk, and then fell in love with it! I was able to work at the Help Desk into my college years, and met some of my best friends and colleagues there.
At the Help Desk, I worked on fixing our school's student laptops. Our school had a partnership with Fujitsu and we learned how to repair their T-730 and their Q-704 models. I worked mostly on hardware repair, but was also trained in software repair. I also worked at our circulation desk to receive student computers that needed repair and detail their issues.
This opportunity was such an important part of me knowing that I wanted to pursue a career in technology. I loved every second of the time I spent working there, and grew so much in my knowledge of computers.
